Join Slack
Once you have your hmcts.net or justice.gov.uk email account, one of your team members can invite you to the HMCTS Slack workspace.
Most teams use the hmcts-reform.slack.com workspace.
After creating your account, update your Slack profile:
- set your full name
- add your team name and role to the “What I do” section
Join common channels
Software engineers should join the developers Slack channel.
Your team lead should also add you to your team channels, including any team contact or build notices channels.
GitHub to Slack mapping
After joining GitHub, add your user to the Slack to GitHub mapping.
This lets Jenkins and other tools notify the right Slack user when they need to contact you about builds or pull requests.
Troubleshooting
I have a hmcts.net account and cannot sign up
This can happen if your Slack invite was approved but you have not been added to the SSO exclusion list.
Ask someone in your team to ask in the #help-slack-hmcts channel to check your account.
