CJS Common Platform

The CJS Common Platform (CPP) supports the criminal courts in England and Wales. It is a distinct platform with its own access, deployment and operational processes.

New joiners should read and follow the onboarding process to obtain access.

Service lifecycle

Follow the lifecycle stages in order when bringing a new component onto CPP:

1. Onboarding: obtain personal access and complete service onboarding to agree ownership, dependencies and the first target stack.
2. Starting a new component: create the repository, configure the build, provision dependencies, deploy to non-live and validate the service.
3. Path to Live: prepare release evidence and deploy through PRP and PRD with Crime Release Management.
4. Live service: check environment availability and outbound network configuration for running services.

Platform reference

Use these sections throughout the lifecycle:

• Architecture: platform structure, terminology and the published architecture model.
• Tools and configuration: service versions, deployment configuration and shared platform tooling.
• Helm charts: the shared chart catalogue and how to use and customise charts.
• Standards: shared platform services, including CPP Artifactory for publishing and resolving artefacts.
